15,000 people. 1 million viewers. One pink torch.

How a single branded product turned the MCG into a national moment for breast cancer awareness.

The Brief

Create a visually spectacular awareness moment at the MCG — something that would move 15,000 people and broadcast nationally.

Breast Cancer Network Australia needed a product solution that could create a powerful public and media spectacle — driving both awareness and fundraising at a major AFL event. The product had to work in 15,000 hands simultaneously and look dramatic from the air for broadcast.

The Results

A simple branded pink torch. Pre-match at dusk, 15,000+ attendees walked onto the MCG field, formed the BCNA Pink Lady silhouette and flashed their torches skyward. The moment was broadcast nationally on Channel 7 to over 1 million viewers. Thousands of dollars in Pink Lady merchandise were sold at the event. Simple product. Perfect execution. Defining campaign moment.
